February 27, 2024 — The countdown is on as Marist College gears up its first-ever Day of Giving on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Under the theme Red Foxes Rise Together, this one-day fundraising event aims to unite the global Marist community around the transformative power of philanthropy.

With a goal of 1,000 donors in 24 hours, the Day of Giving will highlight how gifts of all sizes provide students with an enhanced living and learning experience beyond what would be possible through tuition dollars alone.

“Donor generosity allows us to invest in the priorities that make a difference for Marist students,” said Vice President of Advancement Chris DelGiorno. “This is the first time in Marist history that we will invite Red Foxes everywhere to rise together in support of the College, reaffirming our shared commitment to advancing academics, enriching lives through experiential learning, and making an impact in the world.”

Gifts can be directed to the Marist Fund or any specific area of the College donors wish to support via the Day of Giving website, including various athletic appeals, the Track and Turf Field, Presidential Fund for Equity, Parents Fund, or the Senior Class Legacy. Progress will be tracked in real-time, allowing contributors to see the impact of their giving.

“It’s not how much, it’s how many,” said Frederick Dever '87 of the importance of making a gift at any level – encouraging fellow Red Foxes to consider amounts that are meaningful to them.

“I decided to make a gift because my last four years at Marist have been an unforgettable experience, and I want future Red Foxes to have that great experience too,” said Ava Copeland '24. “I know that any donation, no matter the size, can help enhance the overall educational experience for students at Marist and help them grow professionally, personally, and academically.”

The College isn’t just launching an online campaign, it’s also bringing the Day of Giving celebration to local communities through a series of in-person events. This includes various on-campus happenings for students, faculty, and staff, as well as eight regional events hosted by dedicated alumni volunteers.

“Marist’s first-ever Day of Giving is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the Red Fox Family,” said Marist College Alumni Boston Chapter President Deanna (DeVito) Kass '15. “I am thankful that I am a part of an alumni community that continues Marist's values of commitment to service and helping students succeed. I invite other alumni to join me on March 20 to pay it forward and have no doubt that the Boston Chapter will lead the pack of giving!”

So, will it be Boston, New York City, New Jersey — or your distinctive population of Red Foxes who gets us to our goal? We can’t wait to find out!

Marist's Day of Giving starts on March 20, 2024, at 12 a.m. and concludes at 11:59 p.m. ET. For more information and to make a gift, visit eatingfish.net/dayofgiving
