Members of the Marist community often refer to each other as belonging to the Red Fox 家庭, and that was on full display as President Kevin Weinman and other College leaders have been travelling the country this summer to welcome the newest incoming students and families in their hometowns before they begin their Marist experiences.

6月, Weinman made his way to California, where he met new Marist students in Palo Alto and Pasadena. More recently, he greeted a group of new students in Westchester County, New York. Before summer ends, he’ll also make stops in New Jersey, Long Island, and Boston. The Office of College Advancement organized the events, which are hosted by Marist parents and alumni. New students have the opportunity to meet other incoming students and families form their home region, in addition to making early connections with alumni, 当前的学生, and members of the 职业服务 and 招生 teams.

She said getting to meet her new Red Fox family near her home was an amazing experience.

“After talking with President Weinman, I quickly felt a sense of comfort as I look forward to my transition to Marist,”她说。. “I am excited to be on the Division I lacrosse team and have that experience, but I was also looking for a school that could offer me the perfect balance between school and sports and I believe Marist is just that.”

Bella Riella '27 is from Marin County, California and plans to study journalism at Marist. She says she fell in love with the Poughkeepsie campus when she attended an Admitted Student Day.

“I remember when I arrived that I was so scared because I did not know anyone, but my nerves were quickly put away when I saw the beauty of the campus,”她说。. “Talking to President Weinman over the summer felt like such a great opportunity, and I felt so happy to talk to him along with other representatives because there were so many unanswered questions that I had.”

Throughout the academic year, Weinman can be seen enthusiastically supporting Red Fox athletic teams, attending theater and concert events, preparing late-night breakfasts in the dining hall, and often posing for selfies when he's engaging with students — most documented on 他的Instagram账号. It's all part of the Marist experience, which is focused on delivering a highly personalized education and student experiences.
